Lumber and Remodel Debris Removal in Sonora, CA

Old lumber, drywall, cabinets and the rest of the tear-out from a remodel, loaded in one visit and hauled away.

When a remodel or a repair leaves a pile of old lumber, drywall and cabinets, we load it all in one visit and haul it away, dump fees included. Heavy material such as concrete costs more, because the transfer station charges by weight. Treated wood and anything that might contain asbestos have their own rules, so tell us about them first. For a remodel where debris comes out over several weeks, a dumpster can fit better; for a pile that is ready now, we clear it in one trip.

What we take

  • Old lumber and boards
  • Drywall
  • Old cabinets
  • Doors, trim and other tear-out
  • Old bathtubs
  • Concrete, brick and rock, which cost more by weight

Good to know before we come

  • Have the pile ready. We load it in one visit; for debris that comes out over several weeks, a dumpster may fit better.
  • Tell us about treated wood: pressure-treated lumber, old fence posts and railroad ties. California has separate handling rules for it.
  • We do not haul asbestos. If old flooring, siding or ceiling texture might contain it, have it tested before it comes out.
  • The county's inert material site does not take concrete with rebar or pieces over 18 inches, so tell us what you have.

How much does remodel debris removal cost in Sonora?

Remodel debris is priced by how much of the trailer it fills and how heavy it is. A 16-foot trailer piled high is typically $700 to $1,000, dump fees included. Drywall and concrete are heavy, and disposal is by weight, so a load of them costs more than the same space of light junk.

A small pile is priced like any other small job: a few items usually run $200 to $400.

What moves the price

Where remodel debris goes

Some of it can be recycled. The county's Earth Resource Facility on Camage Avenue takes brick, concrete and rock as inert material, as long as the concrete has no rebar and no piece is over 18 inches, and the Plainview site at the top of the Twain Harte Grade takes untreated, unpainted lumber. Debris that cannot be recycled goes to the Cal Sierra Transfer Station in East Sonora, and metal goes to recycling.

Treated wood waste, such as railroad ties, fence posts and pressure-treated lumber, has to be kept separate and is never burned, chipped or mulched. The county's free dump coupon covers neither treated wood nor construction and demolition waste. Our guide to what stays out of a junk load covers the rest.

Remodel debris questions

Question not here?

Call us. Somebody picks up.

Call (209) 213-1324
Do you take drywall?

Yes. Drywall is heavy, so a load of it costs more than the same space of light junk, because disposal is charged by weight.

Can you take concrete?

Yes, for more, because it is heavy. The county's inert material site does not take concrete with rebar or pieces over 18 inches, so tell us what you have.

Should I rent a dumpster instead?

For a remodel where debris comes out over several weeks, a dumpster can fit better. For a pile that is ready now, we load everything in one visit and you do not lift a thing.

Do you haul asbestos?

No. The county program does not take asbestos either; the county's Don't Trash Tuolumne site points to Merced Landfill, so call there first.
