Junk Removal in San Andreas, CA
San Andreas is the Calaveras County seat, up Highway 49 from Sonora past Angels Camp. We make the drive, and it is in the price.
We haul junk, clean out houses, rentals and garages, and pick up brush piles and storm debris in San Andreas. A few items usually run $200 to $400, and a 16-foot trailer piled high is typically $700 to $1,000, with dump fees included. You hear one flat price before anything is loaded, and the drive up Highway 49 from Sonora is in it. Send photos with the form and we can price the job from those.
San Andreas, the county seat
San Andreas was settled by Mexicans in 1848, grew into a mining camp and became the seat of Calaveras County in 1866, according to its state historical landmark listing. Black Bart, the stage robber, was tried here. Highway 49 runs through town, and Highway 12 ends here. The San Andreas area had 2,994 people in the 2020 Census.
It is a year-round town, not a cabin town. In the 2020 Census only 26 of its 1,296 homes were held for seasonal use, and about 4 in 10 occupied homes were rented. If you own or manage a rental here, we can clear a unit between tenants: the couch, the mattress and the boxes left behind, carried out and swept up before the next lease.
Curbside trash here is Cal-Waste, the hauler Calaveras County permits for unincorporated areas. The cart goes out once a week, and Cal-Waste also offers bulky item pickups for a fee, plus Handy Hauler bins and debris boxes if you would rather load it yourself. If you want it carried out of the house and gone in one visit, that is what we do.
There is no county yard waste drop-off in San Andreas. The county takes brush and pine needles for $4 per cubic yard at Rock Creek in Milton, Red Hill in Vallecito and Wilseyville, and CAL FIRE suspends residential burning in Calaveras County during fire season. When the brush pile is more than you want to haul, we haul it.

Junk removal services in San Andreas
Where can you take junk in San Andreas?
Calaveras County runs its own disposal sites, and they are for Calaveras and Alpine County residents only, with ID. In town, the San Andreas Transfer Station at 4285 Highway 49 is open Friday through Monday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. It takes up to 2 cubic yards of household trash a day for free, about a short-bed pickup load, plus recyclables and flattened cardboard. Gambi Disposal at 968 Church Hill Street keeps the same days and hours and takes appliances ($25 each for washers, dryers, fridges and stoves), two tires free, electronics and batteries, but no household trash.
Mixed loads and construction debris go only to the Rock Creek Solid Waste Facility at 12021 Hunt Road in Milton, at $8 per cubic yard. Rock Creek is open every day from 8 AM to 4:15 PM, takes mattresses free and runs the county's hazardous waste drop-off. The county asks you to arrive 30 minutes before closing. Our guide to what stays out of a junk load has a section for Calaveras County. If you would rather skip the trips, we haul it away.
