Junk Hauling in Sonora, CA
Furniture, appliances, mattresses and full loads of household junk, carried out by our crew and hauled away for one flat price.
Junk hauling means our crew carries the things you are done with out of your home, garage or yard, loads them onto a 16-foot trailer and takes them to be sorted at the Cal Sierra Transfer Station in Sonora. A few items, such as a couch and an old treadmill, usually run $200 to $400. A trailer piled high is typically $700 to $1,000. Dump fees are included, the estimate is free, and most jobs take one to three hours once we are there.
What this service covers
Each one has its own page with prices, what to know before we come, and where it goes.
Who calls us for junk hauling?
Most junk hauling jobs around Sonora start one of three ways.
- A garage or shed that filled up over the years
- A move, where the old couch and the spare fridge are not coming along
- One heavy item you cannot lift alone: a hot tub, a bathtub, a treadmill, a washer
- Landlords clearing what a tenant left behind
- A pile you already gathered that just needs a dump run
What does junk hauling include?
- Carrying it out: the crew does the lifting, so nobody at the house has to
- Loading it onto the trailer, or the dump truck for the big loads
- Hauling it away and sorting it: green waste, metal and trash each go where they belong
- Dump fees, inside the one flat price
- Teardown of hot tubs, sheds and playsets before they are hauled

How much does junk hauling cost in Sonora?
A few items, such as a couch and an old treadmill, usually run $200 to $400. A 16-foot trailer piled high is typically $700 to $1,000. Anything in between is priced on site, or from photos, as one flat price.
We price by the job, not by the hour, so a slow staircase or a tight garage does not run up a clock. The number you hear before we load includes the dump fees. Our junk removal cost guide for Tuolumne County goes item by item.
What moves the price
- How much of the trailer your load fills
- Heavy material such as concrete, which costs more at the transfer station
- Items the transfer station charges extra for: tires, mattresses, and fridges or freezers
- Teardown work, such as cutting up a hot tub or taking down a shed

Junk hauling questions
Can you take just one item?
Yes. Single heavy items such as a couch, a fridge, a washer or a hot tub are a normal job. Call or send a photo with the form and we will give you a flat price for it.
Do I have to bring everything to the curb?
No. The crew carries it out from where it sits: the garage, the back bedroom or the yard. Nobody at the house has to lift a thing.
Do you take fridges, freezers and other appliances?
Yes. Fridges and freezers cost a little more because the transfer station charges a Freon removal fee. Water or gas lines need to be disconnected before we arrive.
Can you remove a hot tub?
Yes. Hot tubs are cut apart and hauled in pieces once the power to them is off. Sheds and playsets are taken down the same way.
How long does a junk hauling job take?
Most junk hauling jobs in Sonora take one to three hours once the crew arrives. A bigger cleanout can take more than one trailer load.
How soon can you come?
Estimates usually happen the same day or the next day, and most jobs are booked within a couple of days after that.
What will you not haul?
Hazardous materials: oil-based paint, solvents, fuel, propane tanks, pesticides, asbestos and chemicals. Most of them go to the county's household hazardous waste drop-off in Jamestown, by appointment, and we will tell you how. Our guide to what stays out of a junk load has the full list.
